Born Learning
Children are constantly learning, right from birth. Their early years are the foundation for growth and development, and what they learn during those years lays the foundation for the experiences they have in the future. Born Learning is a unique and innovative public engagement campaign that helps parents, caregivers and communities explore ways to turn everyday moments into fun learning opportunities.
Research shows that parents...
· Undervalue their contribution to early learning
· Don't always know what they should do to support early learning
· Don't feel they have the time to do what it takes
In response, United Way World Wide partnered with the Ad Council, Civitas and Families and Work Institiute to create Born Learning, an innovative public engagement campaign that helps parents, caregivers and communities create quality early learning opportunities for young children.
Born Learning seeks to clear those hurdles by communicating that everyday moments can easily be turned into quality early learning moments...and that's important because all children are born learning. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to explore the Born Learning trails. Born Learning trails are located at area playgrounds and offer a series of 10 signs offering expert-approved educational games that guide adults on specific ways to create learning games outdoors. The signs suggest tips to support early learning in everyday moments.
