United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley celebrated a record-breaking campaign total Thursday night, at Columbus State University’s Riverside Theatre. Heath Taylor, Russell County Sheriff 2013 Campaign Chair, announced to a crowd of nearly 200 donors and volunteers that United Way raised $7,030,034 through its 2013 annual campaign, surpassing its goal of $7 million by $30,034 and setting a record for the highest amount raised in its campaign history. The United Way also manages the Combined Federal Campaign at Fort Benning, which raised an additional $623,146.98 this year.

It was noted at today’s United Way report meeting that the campaign is at $6,221,072 or 88.9 percent of the goal. It was the last report meeting for the 2013 campaign. The report meeting was held at Goodwill Opportunity Center to discuss the progress of the campaign. United Way’s campaign cabinet and loaned executives met to discuss their accomplishments and obstacles during the campaign.
