It was reported at today’s United Way report meeting that the campaign is at $ 6,219,920 or 94.2 percent of the goal.  It was the last report meeting for the 2011 campaign. The report meeting was held at Hollywood Connection/Ritz 13 in auditorium one to discuss the progress of the campaign. United Way’s campaign cabinet and loaned executives met to discuss their accomplishments and obstacles during the campaign.

The 2011 campaign is nearing its end and there are many in our community in need of support,” said Scott Ferguson, president and CEO of United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley. “There is still time to contribute to this year’s campaign. Please give what you can and help make a difference in someone’s life.”

A number of companies have had great success with their campaigns. Pratt & Whitney will exceed its goal by $30,000; Carmike raised $62,965, which is $6,821 over its goal; Denim North America (DNA) raised $2,000 over its goal; Johnson Controls raised $8,400 over goal; Alabama Power was over its goal by $1300; and Hughston Clinic exceeded its goal. Phenix Girard Bank, Glenwood Schools, Geotechnical & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (GEC), and Dougherty, McKinnon and Luby, CPAs ran first-time campaigns.

"We can all have a tremendous impact with our efforts, not only during the holiday season but throughout the year," said David Passman, 2011 campaign chair and CEO of Carmike Cinemas.  "We are very fortunate and have so much to be thankful for, and that’s why we need to help and support the people of our community who need it most."
