Make a Difference This Holiday Season- Give to United Way
Released On: 12/19/2011 8:13:06 AM
As we celebrate the beginning of the holiday season by giving thanks for the many blessings in our lives- for our friends and family that surround us, I write this letter to remind us all of yet another reason why we all should be thankful this holiday season: United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley.
I am sure it comes as no surprise to anyone when I say this year’s campaign has been extremely difficult given the tough economic times we have been experiencing over the past several years. These times are not only difficult for those who need and receive United Way assistance, but also for those who contribute to the campaign. The ability to have a successful campaign in this economy only happens in strong communities with caring individuals – which I know we have here in the Chattahoochee Valley. I think each of you will agree with me when I say we are all fortunate to call the Chattahoochee Valley our home.
United Way is in the process of concluding what is sure to be another successful campaign- with your help. While we focus on and are thankful for the dollars raised in this campaign, we should be even more thankful knowing that those in need will receive the assistance they are looking for this holiday season.
The dollars raised through this campaign will go towards making a tremendous impact in the lives of so many people in our community. Men, women and children who don’t have any food to eat, clothes to wear, a shelter to sleep under or a place to call home. Children who need a safe place to go after school, women who are leaving an abusive relationship or families struggling to become debt free. The money raised in our United Way Campaign this year helps people from all different walks of life. If you have not given to United Way this year I invite you to join me and thousands of others here in the Chattahoochee Valley by stepping up and making an impact. By giving to United Way you have a hand in helping people with their basic needs, health, income and education.
On behalf of the board of directors, staff and countless volunteers that helped make this campaign the success that I know it will be, and most importantly on behalf of the thousands of United Way recipients, I sincerely and humbly say thank you to each and every company, organization and individual who contributed to this year’s campaign. Without you contributing your hard-earned dollars, it would not be possible for our Partner Agencies to do the work they do every day. Your contribution- no matter how big or small- makes the difference! It is not too late to give this year. Be a part of the change- help our community to thrive.
You can contribute to the campaign on-line at www.unitedwayofthecv.org or by calling the United Way office at 706-327-3255. I hope that you will consider making an impact in the lives of people that need your help right here at home!
I, along with the Chattahoochee Valley board of directors and staff would like to wish you and your family a safe, happy and blessed holiday season.
