The Marketing & Communication Manager reports directly to the CEO. S/he provides support and technical assistance to develop and implement the organization’s marketing communications efforts. Responsibilities include developing and mobilizing segmented marketing and communications strategies to support stakeholder engagement and affinity. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Manager of Marketing and Communications is able to lead change, and has the marketing and business savvy to lead its marketing and communications strategy and function. As part of the senior team, will interact with personnel across the organization to define and manage marketing and communications programs that drive the vision. More specific responsibility areas include, but are not limited to, the following: Demonstrated graphic design, ability to build and expand awareness and visibility of the United Way brand across all audiences and through building strong relationships with the media. Ensure appropriate messaging, storytelling and brand standards for all print materials and digital applications. – Develop a strategic integrated marketing plan to communicate UWCV’s vision and its impact to all current and potential stakeholders. Assist in leading all organization-wide events. Annual production of key collateral such as campaign material (posters, brochures, video, digital message, initiative updates and pledge forms), event marketing and program content, volunteer engagement tools, and regular press releases. Serve as primary media contact and public relations professional for the organization. Provide supervision and coaching to communications associate.
• Bachelor’s degree: Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Marketing and/or Communications • Knowledge and experience with graphic design and graphic design software • WordPress web software required • Strong written and verbal communication • Work with volunteers, other community professionals and organizations • Self-starter with ability to work independently • Working knowledge of brand management, advertising, marketing, public relations, visual communications and product development required • Ability and desire to work across functional areas to achieve organizational goals • Ability to plan, organize and conduct effective presentations to convey ideas and concepts to groups • Project and events management experience.
